Bobbi Brown Natural Finish Long Lasting Foundation Review
Not too long ago I was at Nordstroms and I stopped by their Bobbi Brown counter to check out some of their foundations. I haven’t used Bobbi Brown foundations in years, so I wanted to give them another try. What caught my eye was their Natural Finish Long Lasting Foundation.
From Bobbi Brown:Oil-free, all-day wear so you’ll have soft-matte, even-looking skin without having to pile on powder throughout the day, this is Bobbi’s soft-matte “sequel” to our (now discontinued) Oil-Free Finish Foundation. Sponge-like powders absorb excess oil on the surface of the skin, while emollients lock in moisture to ensure skin remains perfectly balanced. Transfer-resistant formula helps create a barrier against heat and humidity for 8 hours of wear so makeup stays in place. Perfect for oily and normal/combination skin.
Since I have oily-combination skin this sounded like it would be perfect for me to try out. After a few tries the MUA decided that my color was Warm Natural 4.5. Since I have such a hard time finding the right foundation shade I decided to get a sample rather than buying an entire bottle and returning it if I wasn’t happy with it.
When I first tried it out the color looked a bit too pink, which is my problem with all foundations! But, when I started to blend it out, it matched my skin color perfectly! It blends very easily unlike other long lasting foundations. The one thing that I did notice was that it did not give me enough coverage with just one coat. I had to build it on so that I could get the coverage I like. As for the oil control and long lasting claims, I think it lives up to both. I didn’t find the need to touch up my t-zone as often as I normally do, and it did last all day. It didn’t oxidize or shift on my skin like other foundation would on oily skin. The finish is a semi-matte, and looks a more on the matte side, but without the powdery effect.
If you like a sheer to medium long lasting foundation I would recommend this foundation. It comes in a wide range of shades, 20 in total. So I’m sure most of you won’t have a hard time finding a shade that is right for you. It is packaged in a pretty glass bottle that tends to make the foundation appear a little lighter than it actually is. And here is some great news, it comes with a pump!
Hope this review was helpful!

Your skin looks flawless with this foundation. What foundation were you using regularly before trying this one out?
I normally use NARS sheer glow, it my all time absolute favorite!
ITA with the above poster, your skin looks amazing here! It’s looked perfect in all the photos I’ve seen though.
You skin looks amazing! Flawless! Id say you must get the full size.:)
Your skin does look fantastic!
Have you ever tried Sonia Kashuk’s foundation? It’s only available at Target and it has a yellow base, so you don’t have to worry about it being too pink
Since your skin is more oily, I’d love to know how the formula works for you. You can email her: info@soniakashuk.com with your current shades, and she’ll tell you which of hers will match best.
Thank you! I haven’t tried Sonia Kashuk’s foundations, I may have to look into them, thanks for the tip!
you look glowing! what eye shadow are you wearing in these pictures?
Thank you! I’m actually not wearing any. I just applied albatross from NARS on my brow bone and inner corner.
Hi! Your skin looks flawless…what shade are you in MAC? I’m an nc35 and tried the BB in natural tan which has a lot of yellow…
I’m an NC25 and NC30. I always have to mix the two to get the right shade depending on how tan I get. The darkest I go is nc30. It does run a little yellow but I like that because most foundations run to pink on me.
What Bobbi Brown powder shade would you use with your foundation? i’m the same foundation colour as you but not sure what colour powder to get as can only get bobbi brown products online where i live.
Hmmm… I really couldn’t tell you because I don’t wear Bobbi Brown. This was a foundation sample. Lately I have been wearing Ben Nye Banana visage. It’s what I carry in my kit when I do clients. It photographs great, and it’s great for all skin types. The best part is that it is a universal shade. Not to mention VERY inexpensive! Sorry I couldn’t answer your question!
i have very oily skin so i’ve been dying to try this foundation, but i was wondering does it oxidize??
It didn’t oxidize on me! But I then again I really don’t find that to be a problem for foundations on me. It did wear quite well but I did have to touch up to control the oil.
I didnt have that problem!
Wow, it makes your skin look absolutely flawless! I was just wondeirng what lipstick/lipgloss you were wearing in this review? (:
Hmmm.. not 100% sure but I think it might be Nars Belle de Jeur.
I totally agree with you about this make up but now it is discontinued!
Can you suggest something similar?
I use warm natural 4.5- their replacement product is too heavy and a wierd color on my skin.
I am so disappointed:(
Thank you!
